H∞ Optimization of a Novel Maxwell Dynamic Vibration Absorber with Lever, Inerter, and Grounded Stiffness

In this paper, we propose a novel Maxwell dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) with lever, inerter, and grounded stiffness. Firstly, the governing equation of coupled system is established. The analytical formula amplitude amplification factor primary natural frequencies are derived. There three fixed points in amplitude–frequency response curve system, which independent damping. Then, based on H∞ optimization criterion, two possible optimal parameter designs proposed model obtained. Considering practical engineering application ensuring stability stiffness ratio selected, six working ranges inerter–mass calculated. Furthermore, performance reduction compared for cases. It found that when values mass ratio, lever change different intervals, has cases negative, zero, positive results. Especially coefficient viscoelastic another at same time, absorption effect better theoretically. Finally, comparing traditional DVAs, DVA under harmonic excitation random excitation. results could provide theoretical guidance design inerter-based Maxwell-type component.
